Field Sketches

Skagit Snow Geese
Pen and Ink

Every year I make pilgrimages to the Skagit Valley to observe the abundance of wintering birds.  This particular day I sat on the trunk of my car sketching a group of at least 3,000 snow geese.  For hours I watched as they grazed, stretched and occasionally became silent as an eagle passed by.
